I went for a long hike which turned into a slow stroll along the river. The main trail was boring so I deviated from the trail at the half way point and hiked along the river. It turned out to be so much more picturesque, I might have napped a bit along the stream...Enjoyed it very much.
Once I was back at camp I started missing home for the first time. Wherever home is going to be, Oregon is what I’m missing. For the first time on the trip I have the urge to get home.
When I left on the trip and even since the separation I had this feeling that I wouldn’t be remotely satisfied settling down until I went on this huge journey. It was an odd, burning desire to leave, one I almost had no control over. So this is the first time in months, I've wanted to find my home again.
I told you that I was burning out a bit before Yosemite. That feeling has stuck with me but let me explain a little deeper. I am done sight-seeing, riding little bits at a time, stopping to make camp at the first good campsite. I’m done with the forests and cold nights, the streams, lakes and mountains. I'm ready to socialize, ride and move on.
Today, I rode through from Tuolomne Meadows down to the valley of Yosemite, where I barely got off the bike to take pictures. I rode back up to Glacier point, snapped a few and rode on out of the park. The roads are great for moto’s if you could only catch them on a day with no cars!
